SURFACE PREPARATION

Surface preparation is the key component to ensure the successful installation of leveling compound underlayments. It is essential to remove surface contaminates (any bond breakers) and create the correct surface profile (usually a CSP#3). This will provide a solid mechanical bond for the leveling compound, ensuring a sound, solid and stable concrete underlayment. This is a critical step that we keenly pay attention to.

CONCRETE POLISHING

Polished concrete is fast becoming the ultimate hard surface flooring material. Polishing concrete is a multi-step process in which you can choose the level of sheen from satin to high-gloss, which ever meets your aesthetic requirements..

  • Polish a Concrete Topping
  • Install Densifiers

CORRECTIVE MEASURES

It’s unfortunate, however it happens frequently, that some Leveling Companies either do not understand the process of leveling or they simply cut corners. These poor practices often lead to a floor that is more out of level, a floor that will not accept a floor covering, a floor where the leveling compound delaminates or all of the above. When these situations occur, the client incurs upset costs that can total three times the original amount of the installation, not to mention major delays. Revo Concrete is an expert in undoing other Contractor’s messes and making clients comfortable and relaxed that the job will get done right.

WHY LEVELING A SUBSTRATE IS IMPORTANT?

Over the last fifteen years, leveling a floor has become more important than ever and in much higher demand. Hard surfaces, whether laminate, hardwood, engineered hardwood, tile or stone, have significantly grown in length, thickness and width. The larger the floor covering material, the more area it covers, which will in turn highlight any undulations and/or imperfections in the substrate. Today’s hard surface floor coverings require a substrate to have no more than 1/8 of an inch deviation (air space between the straight edge & floor) over 10 linear feet.
